Freedom8

Every room at Freedom8 has air conditioning, and both measure 20 m². One room is set up for a single guest with one single bed, while the other has a queen bed and sleeps up to two.

Guests share a bathroom with a shower, hair dryer and toiletries, and the rooms come with towels, linens and a mosquito net. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Freedom8 has a shared lounge with a TV area and a large screen, where guests can watch films and series together. A dart board and a table tennis table are available for guests who want to play, and the property also offers bicycles, tours, car hire and a shuttle service. Luggage storage is available too.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and there is also Wi-Fi in the public areas. Air conditioning covers the public areas as well. Guests can cook in the shared kitchen, and the property has a terrace and a convenience store.

Guests can communicate in English, Chinese (Mandarin) and Thai, and luggage storage and a family room are also part of the property's facilities.

Freedom8 is in Thonburi, the district on the western bank of the Chao Phraya river, facing the old city of Bangkok across the water. It is a residential area of canals, temples and older neighbourhoods, and it is less busy than the shopping districts on the east bank. The Prajadhipok train station is a short distance from the property, so the area is easy to leave for the rest of the city.

Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall porcelain-decorated prang, is 1.8 km away, and the Grand Palace, the former royal residence, is 2.3 km. Khaosan Road, the backpacker street lined with bars and street-food stalls, is 3.2 km away. Tha Din Daeng Market is close by, and the Wongwian Yai BTS station, 900 m away, runs the Skytrain towards the central business districts.

A good day could begin at Wat Arun, then head across the river to the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which sit close together in the old city. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha sits inside the Grand Palace complex, so the two can be seen in one visit. In the evening, Khaosan Road makes an easy finish, with street food and bars close to the old town.
