Chalok Baan Kao is one of the bays of Ko Tao, a small island in the Gulf of Thailand within Surat Thani province. A small village sits around the bay, with a clinic and a pharmacy close by, and the resort has its own private beach. Freedom Beach and Snorkel beach are both within a kilometre, and the bay makes a quiet starting point for days on the water.
Sairee Beach, the island's best-known beach, is 2.6 km away, and the John-Suwan Mountain Viewpoint, over Chalok and Ao Thian bays, is 900 m from the resort. Haad June Juea beach is nearby, and Koh Nang Yuan, a small group of islands, can be visited by boat. Ko Tao has no airport, so the nearest is Samui Airport, 63.3 km away on Ko Samui, and the last part of the trip is by boat.
A day could start with a swim at Haad June Juea or Freedom Beach, followed by a snorkelling trip to Koh Nang Yuan.
