The Phra Arthit Pier, 200 m away, is a riverboat stop on the Chao Phraya, and the boats are a useful way to reach the temples on the far bank.

A day could begin at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, cross the river to Wat Arun by boat, and end with street food on Khaosan Road. Walking covers most of the nearby sights, while a taxi is useful for trips farther afield, such as to the Chatuchak Weekend Market.
