Every room at DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit has a city view. Among them are king rooms, a junior suite, an executive suite, a terrace suite, a family connecting room and suites with one and two bedrooms, so couples and families can both find a room.

Rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, a desk, a mini bar, a refrigerator, an in-room safe and complimentary tea. In the bathrooms, bathrobes, a hair dryer, toiletries and slippers are provided, and some rooms have a separate shower and bathtub. Some bathrooms also have an additional toilet, and the two-bedroom suite has space for up to eight guests.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa with a sauna and a 24-hour front desk, with a concierge, luggage storage, laundry, dry cleaning and ironing services. An elevator serves the building. Meeting and banquet facilities are available, and the business center offers photocopying and fax. Currency exchange is also offered, and safety deposit boxes are available too.

For dining there is a restaurant, a bar, a coffee shop and room service, and a buffet breakfast is served from 06:00 to 10:30. An airport transfer is available at an additional charge. Families are welcome, with babysitting service and kids' meals, and the hotel is wheelchair accessible.

DoubleTree by Hilton Bangkok Ploenchit stands on Sukhumvit Soi 2, a side street off Sukhumvit Road in central Bangkok, where shops, offices, restaurants and hotels line the main road. The Nana and Phloen Chit BTS stations are both 400 m away, and the Sukhumvit Line sky train is the simplest way to reach other parts of the city without a taxi.

The area also has quieter, greener corners: Nai Lert Park and Ploen Chit park are both about 850 m from the hotel, and The Siam Society and the Kamthieng House Museum are each about 1 km away. Jim Thompson House, a museum of Thai silk and art set in a traditional house, is 2.7 km away. The Grand Palace and Wat Arun lie in the old city across the Chao Phraya River, reached by taxi. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha, which stands inside the Grand Palace complex, is usually visited on the same trip.

A good day could start with a morning at Jim Thompson House, continue with an afternoon of shopping along Sukhumvit Road, and end with street food around Nana after dark. Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large weekend market in the north of the city, makes a full day out on its own.
