Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is one of Phuket's most revered Buddhist temples and is 2.7 km from the building. The Big Buddha Phuket, a large white statue on a hill above the district, is 2.9 km away, and Chalong Pier is 1.4 km away. Most sights are spread along the island's roads, so a car, a scooter or a taxi is the practical way to reach them, and Phuket International Airport is 32.2 km away.

A good day could begin at Wat Chalong and continue to the Big Buddha, before an afternoon at Chalong Pier watching the boats. In the rainy season, rough seas can stop boat trips from the pier, so a day on the water depends on the weather. Kata and Karon both have sandy beaches and are a drive away for an afternoon on the sand.
