Jungceylon Shopping Center is a short walk away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the most important temples on the island, is 5.8 km away. Big Buddha Phuket, the large Buddha statue on a hilltop, is 6.8 km away, and Phuket International Airport is 24.8 km away.

A day could start at the Big Buddha, then continue to Wat Chalong before returning to Patong for the evening. The Banzaan Fresh Market (Night) is a lively night market close by, and Bangla Road is busy after dark. Kata Beach is a short drive from Patong, and the Phuket FantaSea show is another idea for the evening. The longer trips across the island are easiest by car or taxi.
