DD Canel

DD Canel offers a three-bedroom house of 240 m² with a river view, air conditioning and a fan. The house sleeps up to six guests and has three bathrooms, and its beds offer a choice of bed set-ups, with a queen bed or a sofa bed.

Guests also have a flat-screen TV, an electric kettle and a hair dryer, along with towels, linen, toiletries and cleaning products, so the house is ready to use on arrival.

South Thonburi, on the western bank of the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok, is a residential part of the city where temples and river piers sit close to the water. The river is a constant presence here, with ferries moving between the piers and the landmarks on the eastern bank. DD Canel is on a side street, or soi, in this part of the city, with temples and piers within a short walk. The nearest international airport is Suvarnabhumi, 26.5 km away.

Wat Rat Burana, a pagoda 200 m away, is the nearest temple, and Rat Burana Pier, 650 m from the property, links to the river ferries. Asiatique, the riverfront complex with shops and restaurants, is 2.6 km away and is reached by ferry from the piers, making it a popular stop for an evening along the water. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, and the Grand Palace are the big sights further off, roughly 7 to 8 km by road.

A good day could start at Wat Rat Burana in the morning, then continue to Asiatique by ferry for the riverside in the afternoon. Jim Thompson House, a traditional teak house turned museum on Thai silk, makes another good stop for a day of museums and shopping. The Grand Palace and Wat Arun make a full day on their own, so it is best to plan them separately from the riverside.
