Jungceylon Shopping Center is a short walk away, with shops for souvenirs and beachwear as well as restaurants. Kalim Beach is 1.6 km away and is reached by road. Further afield, the Big Buddha, a large white statue on a hilltop, is 7.8 km away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the island's most revered temples, is 7 km away. Both are reached by road from Patong, so they are easy to combine with a day on the beach.

A good day combines the temples in the early morning with an afternoon on the sand at Patong Beach and an evening out on Bangla Road. Karon Beach and Kata Beach are both reached by road, and either can be the day's beach before returning to the bars of Patong after dark.
