Wat Phra Chetuphon, the temple known for its giant reclining Buddha, lies 6.8 km away, and the Grand Palace and Wat Arun are in the old city near the Chao Phraya river, the city's main waterway, and the hotel is an easy base for seeing both sides of it.

A good day could begin at the temples of the old city, the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Chetuphon, then cross the river to Wat Arun, and end on Khaosan Road in the evening, when the street is busy with street food and bars. For a weekend, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a large market with many sections of stalls, 6.6 km away and reached by the Skytrain and MRT.
