Chubby 5

Chubby 5 is let as a single apartment of 15 m², with one single bed for one guest, a private bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and air conditioning. The balcony or terrace is part of the same apartment, so the bed, the bathroom and the outdoor space are all in the same place.

Toiletries and towels are provided, and free bottled water is available in the apartment. Because the whole property is let to one party, the bed, bathroom and balcony or terrace are for that party alone, and the property is managed by a private host.

Chubby 5 has air conditioning, a bathtub, toiletries and towels, and English and Thai are spoken at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the apartment.

Check-in runs from 14:00 to 22:00 and check-out is at 12:00. Hen, stag or similar parties are not accommodated, and guests must be at least 18 years old.

Chubby 5 is in Thonburi, the district on the western side of the Chao Phraya river, opposite the old town of Rattanakosin. The area is residential, with canals, temples and neighbourhood markets close by, and it offers a look at everyday Bangkok beyond the main tourist streets. Many of the streets are lined with shophouses and small food stalls, so everyday local life is easy to see.

The nearest train station is Sirindhorn MRT Station, 400 m away. Khaosan Road, the backpacker street known for its bars, shops and street-food stalls, is 3.2 km away. Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall, tiered prang, is 4.8 km away, while the Grand Palace, in the old town across the river, is 4.2 km. Jim Thompson House, a museum set in a teak-built house, is a longer journey across the city.

A day could begin with the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, the reclining Buddha temple, then continue to Khaosan Road for street food in the evening. For a longer outing, Chatuchak Weekend Market is a large weekend market with thousands of stalls. Asiatique The Riverfront is a waterfront night market on the river and a popular place for dinner, so the evening can be spent there after the temples.
