Fisherman's Village in Bophut, 4.6 km away, is a small quarter of shops and eateries. Chaweng Yai Beach is the nearest stretch of sand, and the Big Buddha and Fisherman's Village need a taxi, scooter or car.

A good day could start with a swim at Chaweng Yai Beach, continue with a visit to the Big Buddha in the afternoon and end with dinner back in Chaweng. The Samui Elephant Sanctuary in Bophut, where visitors can see elephants, makes a different morning, and the cabarets and bars close to the hotel fill the evening.
