Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is another temple worth a visit, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street lined with bars and street-food stalls, is further on. Don Mueang International Airport is 26.6 km away and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 27.5 km.

A full day could start at the Grand Palace, 5.8 km away, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in its grounds, and Wat Arun across the river afterwards. An evening at Asiatique works well after that. On weekends, the Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the largest markets in the city, though it is a long way from the riverside.
