A good first day could begin with a ride on one of the Chao Phraya ferries from the piers a few kilometres from the hotel, stopping at Wat Arun before crossing to the Grand Palace area. For a weekend, Chatuchak Weekend Market is worth a separate day, as it is a weekend market with its own lively atmosphere.
