Patong, the island's nightlife centre, is 20 km away, with Bangla Road as its best-known street, and Chaithararam Temple, known as Wat Chalong, is 26.9 km away. A car is the simplest way to reach the wider island, since the beaches of Kata and Nai Harn lie farther away.

A good day could start on Nai Yang Beach, continue to Sirinart Naiyang Park and end with a visit to the Sunset viewpoint. The evening stalls at the Ni Yang Night Market are close by, and the Big Buddha, on its hilltop, is worth a trip further afield. Both the market and the viewpoint are within a kilometre of the residence, so the evening can stay close to home.
