Across the river, the Grand Palace is 1.4 km from the hotel, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) stands inside its walls. Wat Arun, 2 km away, is one of the best-known temples on this bank, and Phra Pin Klao Pier and Thonburi Railway Pier are close enough to make river boats a simple way to cross.

A good day could begin at Wat Arun, then move on to the Royal Barges National Museum and the Siriraj Medical Museum nearby, before crossing the river to the Grand Palace and Khaosan Road.
