Chakrabongse Villas

Chakrabongse Villas has rooms from 12 m² to suites of 155 m², and several come with a view over the Chao Phraya River, the garden or the swimming pool. Suites of 155 m² sleep up to five guests, for groups travelling together. Rooms of 12 m² sleep up to two or three guests.

Several rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, toiletries and towels, and the suites with a view also have a bathtub and bathrobes. Some rooms also come with a flat-screen TV, a radio and a telephone. The garden view suite of 44 m² sleeps up to three guests and has its own private bathroom with a bathtub.

The leisure side of Chakrabongse Villas centres on an outdoor swimming pool and an indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and a massage service, with a garden and a terrace for relaxing outdoors. A library, a gift/souvenir shop and a playground are also on site, and tours, canoeing and bicycles are offered.

For meals, there is a restaurant, a coffee shop and a snack bar, with room service and food delivery, and breakfast can be taken in the room or as a takeaway. Chakrabongse Villas sits on the Chao Phraya River in Tatien, in the old Rattanakosin part of Bangkok, where many of the city's historic temples and palaces are close together. The river gives the neighbourhood a calmer rhythm than the busy streets further inland.

Wat Arun, across the river, is 450 m away, and The Grand Palace is 700 m from the hotel. Wat Pho, the temple with the reclining Buddha and a traditional Thai massage school, is also close by, and the Museum of Siam, which covers Thai history, is close by too. For a metro connection, Sanam Chai MRT Station is 200 m away, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street with many eateries, is 1.7 km away.

A day in the area can start at The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and continue to Wat Pho and the river at Rajinee Pier, with its ferries. From the hotel, the Chatuchak Weekend Market, 8.6 km away, is a longer trip reached by metro for weekend shopping. The hotel's garden and terrace give a quieter place to sit after a day of sightseeing, and trips further out of the centre are easiest to plan from Sanam Chai on the metro.
