Central City Retreat

The accommodation is a room with its own private entrance, air conditioning and one bathroom. It sleeps up to three guests and has a choice of bed set-ups, so it works for a couple or a small group. Its bathroom and entrance are its own, so guests do not share either with other parts of the property.

The room is equipped with a TV, heating, a hair dryer, toiletries and linens. Complimentary tea and instant coffee are provided, along with a coffee and tea maker.

Guests have a gym with modern equipment and an elevator, and the property has a washer for laundry, with a laundromat also nearby. Free parking is available, and internet access is offered as well.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave, an oven and a stove, with dishes and dining utensils and kitchen basics such as cookware, oils and condiments. Coffee or tea is also provided, and the dishes and dining utensils are provided alongside the cooking equipment.

Other facilities include air conditioning and a heater, a TV with video streaming services, a hair dryer and an iron, so day-to-day comforts are covered. The iron and the washer are both on site for laundry and pressing.

Central City Retreat is on Sukhumvit Soi 4, a side street in the Khlong Toei district of central Bangkok. The area mixes quiet residential lanes with the busier main roads of Sukhumvit, which puts the city's main shopping and transport links close at hand. Sukhumvit is one of the best-known districts of Bangkok for visitors, and its side streets run off the main road through a mix of homes and offices.

The Nana BTS Station is 400 m away and Phloen Chit BTS Station is 750 m away, so the skytrain is a practical way to reach the main districts of the city. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre, is 2.2 km away, and MBK Center is nearby. Jim Thompson House, a museum made up of traditional Thai teak houses, is a short trip away, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, a large market open at weekends, is further out.

For sightseeing, the Grand Palace is 6.8 km away, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Phra Kaew, within its walls. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, stands on the bank of the Chao Phraya river, and the river boats are a way to reach it. A day spent around the old city's palaces and temples covers the best-known sights in one trip.
