Cat In The Box Homestay

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms at Cat In The Box Homestay. The bed set-ups vary between rooms: a king bed in the 36 m² room and in the King Room, two single beds in the Twin Room, a single bed in the 22 m² single room, and double and queen beds in two other rooms.

Rooms accommodate between one and four guests, and the King Room, the Twin Room and the double-bed Standard room have a shared bathroom.

Cat In The Box Homestay has a garden and a coffee shop, and its public areas are air-conditioned. English and Thai are spoken at the property, so guests can ask staff for help in either language.

The homestay is on Krung Thon Buri Road in Thonburi, the district on the west bank of the Chao Phraya, opposite the old city. The area is more residential than the old city across the river, with local streets, a number of temples and a slower pace.

The Wongwian Yai BTS Station is 650 m away and the Krung Thon Buri BTS Station is nearby, so the Skytrain connects the area with the rest of the city. Wat Thong Phleng pagoda and the King Taksin Monument are 750 m away, while Wat Arun, known as the Temple of the Dawn, is 2.8 km away and the Grand Palace, which houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is 3.4 km away.

A day can take in Wat Arun on the Thonburi bank, followed by a ferry across the Chao Phraya to the Grand Palace and the temples beside it. Ferry piers along the river are close enough to make the crossing part of the outing. Khaosan Road, the backpacker street, is also on the old-city side, so an evening walk can follow a day of temple visits. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer trip, better planned as a separate day.
