Freedom Beach, a smaller and quieter beach, lies 2.1 km away along the coast. Wat Chalong, one of Phuket's most important Buddhist temples, is 6.1 km away, and Big Buddha Phuket, the white statue on its hilltop, is a little further on. A day could begin on Patong Beach, then head out to Wat Chalong and the Big Buddha, with the evening spent on Bangla Road. Much of Patong's nightlife is reachable on foot from the hotel. Phuket is a large island, so many visitors use a taxi or hire a car to reach the temples and the beaches further away.
