BGW Phuket

The rooms at BGW Phuket range from single-bed dormitory places to king and queen rooms, plus a family room that sleeps up to five. Most rooms have air conditioning, linens and a city view.

Some rooms have a balcony or terrace, and one room has a mountain view. Some of the dormitory-style rooms share a bathroom; the rest have their own, and the private bathrooms come with a shower and toiletries in most cases. Bed set-ups range from single and bunk beds in the dormitory-style rooms to queen and king beds in the private rooms. Several of the private rooms also have a flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels, a refrigerator and free bottled water.

Patong is the best-known resort town on Phuket's west coast, a busy strip of hotels, restaurants and bars along a wide curve of sand. BGW Phuket stands in the middle of the town on Rat U Thit 200 Pee Road, so the beach and the evening life are both close at hand. The town is lively in the evening, and Patong Beach and the town's shops, bars and restaurants are all within walking distance of the hotel.

Jungceylon Shopping Center is 300 m away and Bangla Road 400 m, so the shops and the bars of Bangla Road are a short walk from the hotel. Further afield, Kalim Beach is 2.3 km away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of Phuket's most important temples, is 6.4 km away. Phuket International Airport is 24.6 km from the hotel, so the island's temples and beaches are a drive away rather than a walk.

A day could start with a swim at Patong Beach and continue to the temple at Wat Chalong, then return to town for the evening. The Banzaan Fresh Market (Night) and Bangla Road are good places to end the day, with street food and bars within a short walk. Taxi service is available from the hotel for trips further afield.
