Wat Arun, on the river, is 13.2 km away and the Grand Palace is 13.9 km, so the old city's temples are a trip across town rather than a stroll.

A full day can start at Wat Arun and the Grand Palace, then continue to the riverside at Asiatique The Riverfront for dinner and shopping. Back in the area, Central Park Rama II and the Wat Sai floating market are worth a look, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 35.7 km away, so it is sensible to allow extra time before an early flight.
