Patong is compact enough to walk between the beach and the nightlife, and Phuket International Airport is 25.5 km away.

A day could start with a swim at Patong Beach, then move on to Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the island's most important Buddhist temples, 6.1 km away, and the Big Buddha Phuket on its hilltop, 6.4 km away. Both are in the Chalong area, so they can be visited on the same trip, and the day can end with an evening on Bangla Road, the nightlife street close to the bay.
