Bar Horizon Hostel

Every room at Bar Horizon Hostel has air conditioning. The rooms range from the Tent, which has a futon bed for one guest, to a 31 m² cottage and a 24 m² bungalow, both with garden views.

The cottage has a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV and soundproofing, and sleeps up to five guests. The bungalow has its own private bathroom and a coffee and tea maker, and sleeps up to three guests. The Tent shares its bathroom with other guests. The cottage and the bungalow both have garden views and their own private bathroom, so guests can choose a shared or a private bathroom.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and there is WiFi in the public areas too. Free parking is available at the property. A 24-hour front desk is on site, with a bar, a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge with a TV area.

The games room offers board games and on-site entertainment. Guests can use a shared kitchen and BBQ facilities, a coffee shop and a snack bar, and the hostel offers grocery delivery and food delivery.

Bicycles, luggage storage and dry cleaning are available, and massage is offered too. Diving, fishing, snorkelling and pub crawls are also available for guests who want to get out on the water, and some rooms are soundproof.

Bar Horizon Hostel is in Tha Yang, in Muang Chumphon, a district of small villages on the Gulf coast of southern Thailand. The hostel stands in a residential part of the area, and the village of Ban Bang Long is just 400 m away. Chumphon itself is a provincial town with a pier and a bus station, and it is a practical stop for travellers moving along the southern coast.

Viewpoints, a market and the coast are the nearby highlights. The Khao Matsee Viewpoint, 4.8 km away, gives views over the surrounding area, and the Food Market, 5 km off, is a local market for everyday shopping. The ferry terminal at Songserm Mattaphon Pier is 5.1 km away, and the beach at Hat Pharadonphap, 6 km away, is the nearest stretch of sand. The Rungkittour Bus Station is also in the town.

A day could begin at the Khao Matsee Viewpoint, continue to the beach at Hat Pharadonphap and end back at the hostel's garden or bar in the evening. Wat Tham Pong Pang, a pagoda in the area, makes a good stop for a half-day trip, and the Songserm Mattaphon Pier is where boats leave for the islands in the Gulf of Thailand. Boat departures from the pier depend on conditions at sea.
