Chang Chui Market serves the neighbourhood with everyday goods. The Phra Pinklao Bridge links Thonburi with the old city, and river ferries run across the Chao Phraya. Khao San Road, 3.1 km away, is the best-known street of the old city for guesthouses and street food.

A good day could start at the National Museum of Royal Barges, 2.1 km away, and continue to the Bangkok Noi Floating Market on the canal, then cross the river to Khao San Road in the evening. Thonburi's canal neighbourhoods are best explored slowly, on foot along the small lanes. Don Mueang International Airport, at 20.2 km, is the nearest airport.
