The Grand Palace is 4.4 km away across the river, and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is 4.9 km away on the Thonburi side. Getting to the old city usually means a taxi or a boat across the river.

A day could start at Wat Suwannakhiri and the Taling Chan Floating Market, then continue by boat or taxi to the Grand Palace and Wat Arun.
