The rooms at Bangkok Houses share a few basics: air conditioning, a full kitchen, a washing machine and a clothes dryer, and each one has its own bathroom. Beds are a queen, a king or a single bed, and every room has a TV.

Thonburi lies on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River and is known for its canals, traditional wooden houses and temples, at a slower pace than the Old City on the other bank. Walking its lanes gives a view of everyday life away from the main tourist sights, and the river is never far.

The Sirindhorn MRT Station is 400 m from the property, a short walk for getting into town. From the riverside, the Krung Thon Bridge (Sung Hi) Pier is nearby and serves boats along the Chao Phraya. The Grand Palace is 4.1 km away, next to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market is 6.3 km away. Wat Sing and Krung Thon Market are both within a short walk, and they make good stops on a stroll from the MRT.

For a day out, start at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, then travel on to the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of Bangkok's best-known markets. Allow a full morning for the palace complex, which is busy with visitors, and leave the afternoon for the markets. If you are arriving by air, Don Mueang International Airport is 18.6 km away.
