Erawan Shrine, a Hindu-style shrine at the Ratchaprasong intersection, sits close by, and Wat Pathum Wanaram Ratchaworawihan, a royal Buddhist temple, is a short walk away.

A full day can take in the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, which sit in the historic old city, with Wat Arun on the far side of the Chao Phraya river.
