Bamboo Bay Family Resort

The rooms range from twin and double rooms with an ocean view to the Family Sea View Room, which measures 30 m² and has two queen beds and room for up to four guests. Several rooms have a balcony or terrace with a sea view, and the rooms can have air conditioning, blackout curtains, a mirror and a closet.

The Deluxe Sea View and the Superior Triple Room with Sea View each measure 25 m², and the Double Fan Room, also 25 m² with a sea view, is cooled by a fan. Rooms can also have a shower, a refrigerator and free bottled water.

Bamboo Bay Family Resort sits on Koh Lanta, an island in Krabi province on the Andaman coast of southern Thailand, in the Ba Kantiang Bay area. The setting is a stretch of the island's coast with beaches and bays close by, while forest, waterfalls and national park land are also on the island. A beach stay here can be combined with walks in the forest and visits to the waterfalls.

Bamboo Beach (Had Mai Phai) is right next to the resort. Khlong Chak Waterfall is 1.3 km away and Mu Ko Lanta National Park is 1.4 km away, while Lanta Old Town, a village of traditional houses and small local shops, is 5.8 km away and Khao Mai Kaew Cave is 6.4 km. Koh Lanta is an island, so the last leg of the trip from the mainland is by boat; Trang Airport, on the mainland and 58 km away, is the closest airport.

A good day could start on the beach next to the resort, continue on the walk to Khlong Chak Waterfall, and end at Relax Lanta Viewpoint, which looks out over the island and the sea. Mu Ko Lanta National Park deserves a longer day, while the cave is an easy afternoon out from the resort. The island's wider beaches are further afield, so a day trip can take in several of them.
