Railay Beach, 4.6 km away, can only be reached by boat, and its cliffs draw climbers and kayakers. Ao Nang Beach, 3.5 km away, offers the sand and sea that the town is known for. Phra Nang Cave, 5.6 km away, is a limestone cave with a shrine, and it is one of the sights reached on a boat trip from Railay. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 11.9 km away, is a hillside temple reached by a long staircase. Krabi International Airport is 16 km away.

A good day can take in Railay with a longtail boat trip to nearby islands such as Poda Island, which is a short boat ride from the mainland piers. In the evening, the Ao-Nang Landmark Night Market is an easy place to spend an evening. In the rainy months, rough seas can halt some boat trips, so plan the island days around the weather.
