Baan Farang

Baan Farang offers rooms from 19 m² up to a 37 m² family room with a balcony for five guests. Every room has a shared bathroom with a shower, towels, toiletries and a hair dryer, and each one comes with board games and puzzles.

The Family Room with Balcony has a flat-screen TV and a streaming service such as Netflix, and it is also stocked with children's books, DVDs and music. Air conditioning is available in several of the rooms.

The old city and its best-known sights lie across the river on the eastern bank, so visits there mean crossing the water by boat or bridge. The neighbourhood has local shops and everyday services.

Within a few hundred metres are Wat Bang Bamru and Wat Nai Rong, two temples with pagodas, and the Smile Signature Pinklao hospital is 350 m away. The National Museum of Royal Barges, 2 km away, displays the ornate royal barges used in royal ceremonies, and the Bang Yi Khan MRT station, 1.3 km away, links the area with central Bangkok. The Southern Bus Terminal is also nearby, serving long-distance coaches, and Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer trip across the city.

A full day could combine the Grand Palace, 3.5 km away across the river, with Wat Arun, Wat Phra Chetuphon, home to the reclining Buddha, and the National Museum of Royal Barges. Khaosan Road, with its bars and street food stalls, is a lively place to end the evening. Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, is one of the best-known landmarks on the river.
