Salaya is a quiet residential area of Phutthamonthon district in Nakhon Pathom province, on the western edge of the Bangkok metropolitan area. It is home to the Mahidol University Salaya campus, and temples and gardens are part of the everyday landscape around the homestay.

Wat Pa Satipatthan Yannasampanno, a pagoda 750 m away, and Wat Suwannaram, a pagoda 1 km away, are the temples closest to the property. The Thai Film Archive is 1.2 km away, and Sala Ya train station is 3.4 km away. Don Mueang International Airport is the airport closest to the homestay.

Visitors with a few hours to spare can build a simple day around the local sights. A good day could start at Wat Pa Satipatthan Yannasampanno, continue to the Thai Film Archive and end in Phutthamonthon park, a large public park with a big Buddha statue. The Sala Ya market is also in the area, a local market for everyday shopping, so the temples, museums and market sit close together, all within the same part of Salaya and reachable from the homestay. Golf and sports facilities are also in the neighbourhood, including the Royal Gems Golf And Sport Club, for guests who want a different kind of outing.
