The rooms at Baan Chaylay Phuket Resort include a standard room, a deluxe suite, studios with pool views or balconies, a deluxe triple room and a triple room with a balcony. Karon is generally quieter than Patong, the island's busiest beach town, and it works well for both beach days and short trips around the island, with a steady flow of local traffic along the main road.

Several temples are close by. Wat Karon is 150 m away, and Wat Chalong, one of the island's best-known temples, is 4.1 km away. Big Buddha Phuket, the large white statue on its hill, is 2.8 km away. A rental car or taxi is the easiest way to reach Big Buddha and the busier beaches further along the road.

A day could start with a swim at Karon Beach, continue up to Big Buddha on its hill, and end at the Karon Night Market, which is 250 m from the resort. The market fills the evening with food stalls and small shops, a good place to eat after a day on the beach. Patong's nightlife on Bangla Road is the main evening option further along the road.
