Baan Ampai Beach Hotel

Every room at Baan Ampai Beach Hotel is set up for up to two guests. Depending on the room, you will find air conditioning, a private bathroom with toiletries and towels, a flat-screen TV, and in some cases a balcony or terrace, a seating area or a king bed.

Rooms can also have an electric kettle and free bottled water, and daily housekeeping and laundry service are available from the hotel. Lamai is a beach area on Koh Samui, the island in Surat Thani province in southern Thailand. The beach is a long, lively stretch of sand, and the area has a busy beach road with street-food stalls and massage shops along it, so there is always something to see in the evening. The beach road is busy in the evenings, with bars and small restaurants along it.

The granite rocks known as Hin Ta and Hin Yai, which are called Grandfather's and Grandmother's Rocks, are 1.4 km from the hotel, and the Lamai Sunday Nightmarket is also close by. Na Muang Waterfall, a waterfall in the hills, is 4.8 km away, and Samui Airport is 11.8 km away on the island itself. The large Big Buddha statue is 14.1 km away, and Wat Plai Laem, a temple known for its large Guanyin statue, is 14.2 km away.

A good day out could start at the waterfall, then continue to the Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem for the temples, before returning to Lamai for the Sunday night market. The beach and the rocks can fill the rest of the day, with time to swim at the hotel's own beach. Pack in the sights at an easy pace, since Wat Plai Laem and the Big Buddha are the furthest of them.
