Thong Lo BTS station is 100 m away on the Sukhumvit line, and the train reaches the shopping and business districts further along the route, so much of the city can be reached without a car. The neighbourhood mixes local life with nightlife, and the streets are busiest after dark.

Siam Paragon, the large shopping centre in the Siam area, is 5.2 km away and sits on the same train line. Jim Thompson House, a museum of traditional Thai teak houses once owned by the American silk entrepreneur Jim Thompson, is 6 km away and makes a good stop for a quieter afternoon. In the old city, the Grand Palace is 9.7 km from the apartment, and Wat Arun, the temple with a tall tower on the Chao Phraya riverbank, is close to it.

A good day could start at the Chatuchak Weekend Market, which is open at the weekend, and end back in the Thong Lo area at the Soi 38 Night Market. The side streets around the station are a good place to eat in the evening. For a longer trip, Suvarnabhumi Airport is 19.1 km away.
