Ayathorn Bangkok offers superior twin and king rooms, a Family Suite, Grand Deluxe rooms and suites, so guests can choose between two single beds, a king bed or a larger suite. Some rooms have a city view, and rooms can have air conditioning, an in-room safe, a desk, a sofa, a seating area, a mini bar, a kettle, bathrobes, a hair dryer and ironing facilities, depending on the room. The area combines the older side of the city with its busy backpacker quarter, which is a practical setting for a first visit to Bangkok.

The Grand Palace is 1.7 km away, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Bangkok's most sacred temple, sits within the same complex. Wat Arun, the riverside temple with its tall, tiered prang, is 2.3 km away across the river. The Sam Yot MRT station is 1.1 km from the hotel, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 27.5 km away.

A full day can begin with the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, continue to Wat Arun, and end on Khao San Road. The Chatuchak Weekend Market lies further north and is open at weekends, selling clothing, food and crafts from thousands of stalls, so it makes a separate outing from the old city's sights.
