Along the beach road, street-food stalls and massage shops line the way.

Bangla Road, the street of bars and clubs, is 1.3 km away, and Jungceylon Shopping Center is 1.4 km away. Freedom Beach, a small secluded beach, is 1.8 km away, and Karon Beach is 3 km away, a longer stretch of sand. Big Buddha Phuket, the hilltop statue of a seated Buddha, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the island's most important temples, are farther afield.

A good day could start with a swim at Patong Beach, continue with a trip to Big Buddha Phuket or Wat Chalong, and end with an evening walk along Bangla Road. Karon Beach is a calmer alternative for an afternoon on the sand, and the Dragon night market is a lively place for street food and stalls once the sun goes down.
