Rooms at AVALAN PhayaThai go from standard rooms with one queen bed to suites with three queen beds, and free Wi-Fi is available in all of them. Some rooms look out over the city, others over the garden, and several have a whirlpool bathtub.

The Deluxe Suite and the Grand Suite measure 40 m² and sleep up to six guests. The Luxury Studio Suite, at 40 m², sleeps up to twelve. Beds range from single beds and a bunk bed to queen and king beds, depending on the room, and air conditioning is available in several of the rooms. Phaya Thai is a central district of Bangkok, full of offices, hotels and street-food stalls, and the hotel stands on Phaya Thai Road, 50 m from the BTS Skytrain station. The Skytrain runs overhead along the main roads, and the district is a practical base for travellers who want to move around the city by rail rather than by road. Hotels and guesthouses line the nearby streets, and the stations make the rest of the city easy to reach.

A short walk away, the Wang Suan Phakkat Palace is a collection of traditional Thai houses and art. The Jim Thompson House, the teak home of the American silk entrepreneur Jim Thompson, is 1 km away. The Grand Palace is 4.7 km away, with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha inside its walls, and Wat Arun stands across the river from it. The Airport Rail Link station is close by and runs to Suvarnabhumi Airport, 24.5 km away.

A full day could begin at the Grand Palace, continue to Wat Arun across the river, and finish at the Chatuchak Weekend Market, 5 km from the hotel. For a slower afternoon, the Jim Thompson House is a museum of Thai silk and teak architecture.
