Aurum The River Place

All the rooms at Aurum The River Place measure 25 m² and sleep between two and five guests. The views run from the city to the Chao Phraya River, with several rooms facing the river and others overlooking the city. The River View Double Bed sleeps two with a king bed, and one room sleeps up to five.

Several rooms have air conditioning, a TV with satellite channels and free Wi-Fi, and some bathrooms have a bathtub or a separate shower. Bathrobes, hair dryers and toiletries appear in a number of rooms, and a choice of bed set-ups is offered in several of them.

Aurum The River Place has a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and a concierge. Laundry, dry cleaning and ironing services are available, and there is a library, a shared lounge with a TV area and a convenience store on site, plus a gift shop and ticket services. Daily housekeeping is provided, and an elevator serves the building.

A massage service, a garden and a terrace are also available, with a bar, a coffee shop and food delivery. The hotel offers an airport transfer and a shuttle service, taxi service is available too, and tours are offered as well. Free parking is available nearby, and a bicycle parking area is on site.

Aurum The River Place sits in Phranakorn, the old royal quarter of Bangkok known as Rattanakosin, where many of the city's best-known temples and palaces stand close together along the Chao Phraya River. The river is busy with boats, and the riverside piers make the area easy to explore without a car. It is a district for days spent among temples, palaces and the river.

Wat Pho, with its reclining Buddha, is 300 m from the hotel, and Wat Arun, the temple of the dawn, is 350 m away on the river. The Grand Palace lies 700 m from the hotel, and Khaosan Road, the backpacker street with its guesthouses and street food stalls, is 1.8 km away. The Sanam Chai MRT station is 300 m from the hotel for the metro, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market is a longer journey away.

A day here can begin at Wat Pho and continue on foot to the Grand Palace, then cross to Wat Arun by river boat from the Tha Tien pier. Street food stalls line many of the lanes around the temples, and in the evening Khaosan Road is lively with bars and food stalls. Khaosan Road is a longer walk than the temples, so it is worth a taxi ride back.
