At Smile Oasis Houses

The rooms at At Smile Oasis Houses include an 18 m² room with a separate shower and bathtub, a 12 m² bunk bed room, a 12 m² twin room with two single beds, and a 24 m² triple room with three single beds.

Each room sleeps between two and three guests. Several rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi, and some also have a desk, a mirror or a seating area.

The 24-hour front desk handles much of the practical side of a stay, with express check-in and check-out, luggage storage, lockers and safety deposit boxes. There is an airport transfer and a shuttle service, and tours and ticket services are also offered.

Daily housekeeping, laundry service and dry cleaning are offered, along with a laundromat, and the hotel has meeting and banquet facilities for events, so small conferences and celebrations can be held on the premises.

There is a coffee shop and a shared kitchen, plus a shared lounge with a TV area. Rooms can have air conditioning, hair dryers, showers and satellite or cable channels, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms and also available in public areas.

The hotel is in the Khaosan area of Banglamphu, an old district of Bangkok where Khaosan Road, a backpacker street lined with guesthouses, street-food stalls and small bars, gives the area its lively character. The river and the historic core of the old city are close by, and a few small temples, a mosque, a history museum and a riverside fort are within a few hundred metres of the hotel, so the streets around it reward a slow walk.

Khaosan Road is 400 m from the hotel. The Grand Palace is 1.6 km away, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) stands on the same royal grounds. Wat Arun, on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya, is 2.3 km from the hotel. For longer trips, Sam Yot MRT station is 1.8 km away, and Don Mueang International Airport, the closer of the two main airports, is 20.3 km away.

A day could start at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, continue across the river to Wat Arun, and end on Khaosan Road among its guesthouses and street-food stalls. For shopping, Chatuchak Weekend Market is open at weekends and is a longer trip out of the centre, while Siam Paragon is a large mall in the Siam district.
