Assava Dive Resort

Assava Dive Resort offers bungalows and standard rooms, and the rooms have toiletries and towels. The Deluxe Beach Front Bungalow has a beach view and a double bed, with room for two guests. The Superior Room Double is a 25 m² room with a king bed for two. The Deluxe Garden Twin Bed and the Standard Triple Room both have a garden view and room for up to three and four guests.

Air conditioning is available in some of the rooms, and a few have a balcony or terrace. Walk-in showers, bathrobes and hair dryers are part of the bathroom setup in most rooms, and the family bungalow measures 32 m² and sleeps up to four guests.

Assava Dive Resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a private beach, and a bar and restaurant on site. The restaurant serves à la carte dishes, lunch and dinner, and breakfast can be taken as a continental breakfast or as a takeaway. Coffee, bottled water and food delivery are also available.

For activities, guests can go diving, snorkelling, fishing and hiking, and the resort offers tours, non-motorised water sports and a shared lounge with a TV. Practical services include a shuttle service, a taxi service, daily housekeeping, luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and a doctor or nurse on call. Facilities for disabled guests are available, and the languages spoken include English, Dutch, French, German and Thai.

Chalok Baan Kao is a bay on Ko Tao, the small island in the Gulf of Thailand known for diving and snorkelling. Small resorts, dive schools and cafés line the shore, and the island's roads connect the bays along its coast. Ko Tao has no bridge, so the last part of any journey to the island is by boat.

Ao Chalok Ban Kao is 350 m away, and the John-Suwan Mountain Viewpoint, 900 m from the resort, looks over Ao Chalok and Ao Thian beaches. Freedom Beach and Haad June Juea are both within a short walk, and Ao Thian and Shark Bay are other bays a short distance from the resort. Sairee Beach, the best-known beach on the island, is 2.5 km away, and Nangyuan Island, 6.1 km away, is reached by boat.

A day could begin with the walk up to the John-Suwan viewpoint for the views over the bays, then continue with a boat trip to Nangyuan Island, whose viewpoint over the small islets is a well-known sight. In the afternoon, Sairee Beach is a good place to swim and eat out, and the bays nearby are easy to reach for a quiet swim before dinner. Those who prefer a slower day can stay at the resort, which has a private beach of its own.
