Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is 14.8 km away, Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) is 24.6 km away, and the Grand Palace is 14.7 km away, so the BTS and a taxi are the practical options for longer trips. Siam Paragon and the MBK Center are shopping options further into the centre, reached by the same BTS line.

A good day could start at Wat Dhammongkol, then take the BTS into the centre for the Grand Palace and Wat Arun on the river. On weekends the Chatuchak Weekend Market is worth the trip, and in the evening the riverside at Asiatique The Riverfront is a relaxed place for dinner after a day out.
