Noppharat Thara Beach is 900 m away, and the Ao Nang Night Market is 500 m.

Longtail boats leave the bay for Railay Beach, 3.8 km away, a limestone peninsula with caves including Phra Nang Cave, and for the islands of Poda and Tup, which are reached only by water. The hilltop Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), a Buddhist temple reached by a long stairway, is 14.4 km away, and Krabi International Airport (KBV) is 18.6 km away.

A good day can start with a swim on the bay, continue with a boat trip to Poda or Tup and end at the night market. Ao Nang is a practical base for day trips, since boats to the islands and to Railay leave from the same bay, and the night market is a short stroll from the beach road. In the rainy months, rough seas can stop the island boats.
