On the Nakkerd Hills, the Big Buddha, a large white statue, is 4.5 km away, and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the island's best-known temples, is 6.4 km away. Phuket International Airport is 35.8 km away.

A simple day out is to start at Nai Harn Beach, then head to the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong, which are in the same Chalong area. The Rawai fish market gives a closer look at everyday life in the village, and the beach and temples make a full day out in the south of the island.
