Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort

The suites and rooms at Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort look out over the gardens, the sea or the ocean, depending on the room. Every room has a private bathroom with bathrobes, a hair dryer, an electric kettle and toiletries, and several have a bathtub with a walk-in shower.

Sea view and ocean view rooms are available alongside garden view ones, with capacity for up to two or three guests depending on the room. The Sea View Suite and the Luxury Beach Front View Suite overlook the water, while the garden view rooms and suites look out over the resort's lush gardens.

Facilities at Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort include an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, a spa with a sauna and a steam room, and a fitness centre. Massage, body scrubs, body wraps and foot baths are offered at the spa, and the resort also has a hot tub, a yoga room, a game room and a library.

Dining covers the Thin Tai Restaurant and Guilty Cuisine, a poolside bar, a coffee shop, a snack bar and 24-hour room service, with buffet and continental breakfast offered as well. Food delivery and a shared kitchen are also available.

The 24-hour front desk handles currency exchange, luggage storage and laundry service, and there is an airport transfer. Car hire, bicycle rental and a taxi service can be arranged, and tours and non-motorised water sports can be arranged too.

Bo Phut is a relaxed fishing village on the shore of Koh Samui, and the resort stands within it, with Bo Phut Beach 50 m away. Its streets are lined with small restaurants and shops, and the pace is slower than on the island's busier beach strips. Fishing boats moored along parts of the shore give the village its character, and Bo Phut itself is small enough to explore on foot.

Fisherman's Village, 800 m away, is the village's walking street of shops and restaurants along the harbour. Samui Airport is 4.4 km away, and an airport transfer is offered for arrivals. The Big Buddha, 3.9 km away, is a hilltop statue and one of the island's best-known landmarks, reached by road from the resort. Car hire, bicycle rental and a taxi service can be arranged through the resort, so getting around without your own vehicle is possible.

A good first day could start at the Big Buddha in the morning and finish with a walk through Fisherman's Village in the evening. Maenam Beach, a sandy stretch farther along the coast, is another place to swim. For time on the water, snorkelling, diving and canoeing are also offered by the resort.
