Ari BTS Station is 400 m away, and the Skytrain runs from there to the shopping districts of Siam and Sukhumvit. Chatuchak Weekend Market is 2 km away, one of the largest markets in Bangkok, with thousands of stalls that are busiest at weekends. Further afield, the Grand Palace is 6.6 km away, and Wat Arun stands across the Chao Phraya River from the Grand Palace area. Don Mueang International Airport is 16 km away, and Suvarnabhumi Airport, the main international airport, is 24.7 km away.

A good day could begin with the Ministry of Finance Back Flea Market, a short walk from the apartment, then continue by Skytrain and river boat to the Grand Palace and Wat Arun. Chatuchak fits a weekend morning, and Jim Thompson House, the former home of the American silk entrepreneur Jim Thompson, makes a good stop in the centre. The Philatelic Museum makes a good afternoon visit, and Wat Phai Tan, a temple in the neighbourhood, is close by.
