Alley & Pier

The rooms at Alley & Pier include double rooms, a twin room and a single room, several of them with a city view, plus the Family Deluxe Garden View for up to four guests. The rooms come with private bathrooms, toiletries and towels, and some have a desk and a seating area. The Deluxe Double Room, the Deluxe King Room and the Deluxe Twin Room all have a city view, and the Family Deluxe Garden View overlooks the garden.

Air conditioning is in several rooms, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. The double rooms have a queen bed, the twin room has two single beds, and the Family Deluxe Garden View has two queen beds. The Single Standard Room has a single bed for one guest, and the Room Deluxe King Room is suited to a large group travelling together.

Alley & Pier has an elevator, and air conditioning in its public areas. English and Thai are the languages covered, and non-smoking rooms are available for guests who prefer them. The hotel also has family accommodation, including a room with a garden view for up to four guests.

For getting around, the hotel offers an airport transfer and a shuttle service, and parking is paid, with a daily fee. Internet access is available in the public areas as well as in the rooms, so guests can stay connected outside their room too.

Alley & Pier stands on Phra Athit Road in the Bangkok Riverside area, a stretch of old shophouses, cafés and small bars that runs along the Chao Phraya river. The old Phra Sumen Fort stands on the riverbank close to the hotel, and the neighbourhood is one of the older parts of the city, with the river and the old city close at hand.

Phra Arthit Pier is 100 m away, so the river ferries are an easy way to reach the far bank. Wat Arun, on the Thonburi side, is 2.2 km from the hotel, and The Grand Palace is 1.5 km away. Khaosan Road, the backpacker street with its guesthouses and bars, is 550 m from the hotel, and Santichaiprakan Park lies on the riverside nearby. The nearest rail link is Bang Yi Khan MRT station, so taxis and ferries are useful for trips further afield.

A good day here starts at The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), which sit together in the old city, followed by Bangkok National Museum, which holds a large collection of Thai history and art. In the evening, Khaosan Road is busy with bars, guesthouses and street stalls.
