Akwa’s Second Guesthouse

Air conditioning and a seating area are found in every room at Akwa’s Second Guesthouse. The Standard Double Bed has one double bed and sleeps up to two guests, the Standard Twin Beds have two single beds for up to two guests, and the Standard Triple sleeps up to three.

Each room has a shower, a refrigerator and a television with satellite and cable channels, and the rooms have a seating area to relax in after a day out. Each bathroom is private, so guests do not share it with other rooms, and a refrigerator is included in every room for keeping drinks cool.

Chaweng is one of the best-known beach areas on Koh Samui, a lively stretch of sand with restaurants, bars and shops along the streets behind it. Akwa’s Second Guesthouse is in this part of the island, and Chaweng Noi Beach, the nearest beach to the property, is 1 km away. Chaweng Yai Beach lies a little further on. Samui Airport, 3.3 km away, is on the island itself, so the beaches and temples are all reached by road from the guesthouse.

Chaweng Walking Street is 250 m away, a pedestrian street of shops, bars and eateries that keeps the evenings busy. Laem Din Market is nearby, and the Samui Elephant Sanctuary Bophut and the Samui Crocodile Farm are also worth a visit. The Big Buddha, a large seated Buddha statue on a hill, is 5.7 km away, and Na Muang Waterfall, in the hills of the interior, is 9.1 km away.

A day could start at the Big Buddha and continue to Wat Plai Laem, the temple with its large Guanyin statue, before heading inland to Na Muang Waterfall. The Samui Institute of Thai Culinary Arts, a Thai cookery school, is close to the guesthouse. In the evening, Chaweng’s restaurants and bars are the natural place to end the day.
