Akwa Guesthouse

The rooms at Akwa Guesthouse measure between 30 m² and 66 m², from a Standard room to a Penthouse with a bathtub. Every room has a shower, a DVD/CD player and satellite or cable channels, and several rooms also have air conditioning and a seating area.

The Deluxe, at 35 m², the Studio Quadruple, at 50 m² and sleeping up to four, and the Studio triple, at 40 m² and sleeping up to three, all have a mountain view. Chaweng is one of the busier beach areas on Koh Samui, a long stretch of sand with bars, restaurants, massage shops and food stalls along the roads behind it. Akwa Guesthouse stands on South Chaweng Beach Road, where the sand and the evening life are both close at hand.

Chaweng Noi Beach is 700 m away, and Wat Chaweng, a Buddhist temple, is 2 km away. Chaweng Walking Street has shops and stalls of its own in the evenings. Big Buddha, a large seated Buddha statue in the Bophut area, is 6.1 km away and is one of the island's best-known sights. Lamai Beach and the Hin Ta and Hin Yai rock formations, known locally as Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks, lie further along the island.

Samui Airport is 3.7 km away, so the trip from the airport to the guesthouse is short. A day can combine a swim at Chaweng Noi Beach, a visit to Big Buddha in the afternoon and an evening on the Walking Street. The Samui Elephant Sanctuary Bophut is 4.2 km away for a visit with the animals. Na Muang Waterfall, in the island's interior, makes a good outing for the afternoon. The nearest sand is Chaweng Noi Beach, a short walk from the guesthouse.
