Phrom Phong BTS station is 350 m away and Thong Lo BTS station is 1 km away, so the Sukhumvit line gives skytrain access to the rest of the city. Siam Paragon, a large shopping centre, is 4.4 km away, and the Jim Thompson House, a museum of traditional Thai houses gathered by the American silk entrepreneur Jim Thompson, is also a short taxi ride away. The Grand Palace is 9 km away, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 19.7 km away, while the Chatuchak Weekend Market, a sprawling weekend market in the north of the city, is a longer trip.

A day can combine the skytrain for shopping along Sukhumvit with a visit to the Jim Thompson House, followed by an evening at Asiatique The Riverfront, a riverside night market and entertainment complex. Visits to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace fit into the same trip, as both temples lie on the river in the old city.
