Further afield, Khao Mai Kaew Cave is 2.9 km away, a limestone cave worth a visit in its own right. Mu Ko Lanta National Park, 6.2 km away, covers land and sea around the island, and Long Beach, about 10.5 km away, offers a long stretch of sand. Each one makes a different kind of day out, from limestone caves to a national park and a long sandy beach.

A good day could start with the community museum and the temple in the old town, continue to Mu Ko Lanta National Park, and end at Long Beach. In the rainy months, rough seas can disrupt boat trips to and from the mainland. The museum and the temple are both a short walk from the property, so the morning can start close by.
